How To: Add Your Own Commenting Rules

Hey jammers! Popcorn here, once again, and this How To is going to be all about Commenting Rules! Want to know how? Keep on reading:

Where To Make Comment Rules

First off, let me just say that comment rules are one of my favorite things that you can add to your blog! They are really helpful when wanting to display comment rules and special instructions of some sort. Here's how you make 'em:

1. Select the blog that you would like to add your comment rules on to.

2. On the sidebar under "Theme", should be a button that says "Settings" Click on it.

3. Scroll down the list until you see the "Comments" section. It's right below the "Posts" section.  ⏬ (Click on the image to enlarge it)

4. See the bottom category that says "Comment form message"? That is where you write! You have 4,096 characters to use! That should be plenty! XD

Tips When Writing Your Rules

Here are a couple of tips for you when writing your rules:

  • Don't write to many comment rules! Just keep it simple and sweet :)

  • Make sure your rules are kid-friendly Remember! A lot of kids are sure to read your blog, so make sure all language is appropriate and understandable.

  • Be clear when stating your rules Going back to the second tip, if you're trying to get your point across, I reccomend to just keep it simple and quick.

  • Want to add your own little message? Go ahead! Things like "These are pretty chill rules, so as long as you follow them, you'll be totally fine!" or "Long comments are encouraged!" Anything like that! Just say what you want to say, but you know, keep it easy.

I hope these tips help improve your comment rules in your blog! Feel free to jag me or comment with any questions or concerns! Thanks for reading and happy blogging :)
